The Benefits of Organic Cotton
Here at Rosie & Jim’s we really care about the comfort and well-being of you and your children, ensuring that all of our products are of premium quality, using only the softest fabrics and safest materials. With this in mind we are super proud of our 2 Organic Cotton collections for babies and children up to 8 years. Both fair trade Frugi and planet friendly Kite offer a truly fabulous Selection of Organic Cotton clothing and accessories certified by the Soil Association to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). GOTS is recognised as the leading textile standard for products made from organic fibres and companies must meet a set of strict environmental and social criteria to achieve annual certification.
Organic cotton is believed to be excellent for the tender, developing skin of a baby. Softer and safer than conventional cotton clothing, the production of organic cotton does not involve the use of chemicals and therefore causes fewer allergies and less skin irritation.
Buying organic cotton is also hugely beneficial to the environment with the excessive use of chemicals in conventional cotton production leading to a great deal of environmental pollution. Organic cotton is grown using organic means without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides, therefore helping to improve the quality of the land, prevent water contamination, and conserve biodiversity.
Always ethical and never compromising on quality, style or design, this season’s Frugi collection is as beautiful as it is environmentally friendly. It features some of their ultimate must-have pieces including their famous reversible snuggle fleeces (featured in the image above)and gorgeous printed babygrows. The key design themes for Autumn/Winter 16 include ‘Multi Dinos’ fab green and blue dinosaur print in the baby boys collection and ‘Hare & Tortoise’ soft raspberry pink, green and blue pattern in the baby girls collection. As well as their fun and colourful attitude to design, every Frugi garment is made with real children and busy mums in mind, offering practical staples in easy-care organic materials that kids love to wear every day. In addition to all of this, Cornwall based brand Frugi also give 1% of their annual turnover to a selection of children’s and environmental charities through their ‘Little Clothes Big Change’ program and have so far given over £245,000 to some great causes including The Cornwall Wildlife Trust and The Sick Children’s Trust.
Our planet friendly Kite collection, brought to life on the Dorset coastline, is just as scrumptious, offering the cutest of designs and softest of organic textiles throughout their Autumn/Winter 16 collection. We just love their ‘farmyard’ printed range of baby wear this season in beautiful soft pinks and blues for baby girls and vibrant reds and yellows for baby boys (featured in the image here). Always manufactured to the highest quality, every Kite garment is designed and made with original and thoughtful details and produced with the lowest environmental impact.
